3 Days Tour From Fes To Marrakech via Merzouga

This tour is perfect for people arriving in Fez who want to experience Morocco in a short amount of time. Highlights include a camel trek and night camping in The Sahara, visiting the Dades Gorge, and wandering around Kasbah Ait Benhadou.

• Day 1

  Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

  The adventure begins when we pick you up at your Riad or your hotel in Fez at around 8:00 a.m. We set of for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the breathtaking middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort town and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specialised in the work of cedar wood. We will have lunch in Midelt. In the afternon we will drive on to the small town of Erfoud and then into the desert. We will have camels waiting to take you into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will spend the evening in a bivouac (camp). There you will enjoy a Berber dinner, and sleep in traditional Nomad tent.

• Day 2

  Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

  We will wake up early and have breakfast outdoors, before returning by camel to nearby hotels for a shower. Then, we depart to Erfoud, which is known for it’s fossils and geology. We drive through beautiful palm trees groves before stopping for lunch and a short walk in the amazing Todra Gorge. A stream runs through the centre of the impressive rocky gorge, and you will walk amongst local vegetable gardens and towns. It is a great respite from the heat of the desert. After a walk we head on to our stoping point Boumalne de Dades, where we relax and have dinner in a hotel.

• Day 3

  Dades Gorges- Rose vally – Ouarzaztte- Kasbah Ait Benhadou – Marrakech

  After breakfast, we will take a short walk in the Dades Gorge before departure for Marrakech. The Gorge is a wonderful site, and you will be able to take many pictures of ancient Kasbahs and towns. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses and the road of a thousand Kasbahs. We will visit of Ouarzazate and stop for lunch in Ait Benhadou village. We will have time to explore the famous protected UNESCO site which is featured many films like Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia, and many more. We will then drive on via the breathtaking scenery of the Tichka pass to arrive in Marrakech.
