4 Days Tour From Fez To Marrakech via Merzouga

This is a perfect tour for someone wanting to experience many varied environments of Morocco. You will see forest, mountains, desert, and oasis all in 4 days. Highlights include visiting lush Oasis, travelling by camel to sleep amongst the dunes of The Sahara, and walking through The Dades Gorge.

• Day 1

  Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

  The adventure begins when we pick you up at your Riad or your hotel in Fez. We set of for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the breathtaking middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort town and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specialised in the work of cedar wood. We will have lunch in Midelt. In the afternon we will drive on to the small town of Erfoud and then into the desert. We will spend the night in a hotel on the edge of the sandy dunes in Merzouga.

• Day 2

  Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani - Erg chebbi

  After breakfast, we will tour the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes. On our way, we will visit the village of Khamlia, a Moroccan village, where we will attend a local performance on Gnawa Music. We will visit the Oasis of Merzouga which preserves an old system of irrigation, before heading to Rissani to explore ancient Ksours and Kasbahs. After a local and typical lunch, we drive back to the hotel. Once there, we will exchange our cars for friendly camels and depart in a camel trek to the stunning golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will spend your night in a bivouac (camp) and enjoy Berber music, before spending a peaceful night under a nomad tent.

• Day 3

  Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

  After a beautiful sunrise and breakfast in Sahara desert, we will return by camels to the hotel for shower before we depart. In Erfoud, we will experience the treatment of fossilized stones and marbles, before continuing between peaceful palm groves towards the Todra Gorge. Stop for lunch and then take a short walk in the beautiful Gorge, before travelling to the Dades valley where we will spend the night in a hotel.

• Day 4

  Dades Gorges - valley of roses – Ouarzazate- Kasbah Ait Benhadou – Marrakech

  In the morning we will take a short walk in the Dades Gorge before departing for Marrakech. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses and the stunning Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We cross Ouarzazate and stop for lunch in Ait Behaddou village, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah. We will then through the High Atlas Mountains via the breathtaking Tichka pass. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
