3 Days Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga

This trip is great for people who want to see the desert and only have a limited time in Morocco. Highlights include visiting the famous Kasbah of Ait Bennhaddou, the Dades Gorge, and a sunset camel ride into the Sahara.

• Day 1

  From Marrakech to Dades Gorge

  We will pick you up in Marrakech at about 8am. We then travel over the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) while enjoying superb views of the mountains and of the Berber Villages on the way. We will stop for lunch and tour the World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou – this famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films. We’ll then pass through Ouarzazate and continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley, Skoura Oasis with it’s authentic 17 century kasbah, the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Dades Gorge. After a big day we will stay overnight at a hotel.

• Day 2

  Dades Gorge to Merzouga

  After breakfast at the hotel we will depart to the Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300 m in a narrow valley thickstudded with palmeries and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will travel further into the desert to Merzouga, where we will stop along the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. From here we will take a camel ride (about one hour and a half) in order to get to your Bivouac Tent. We will spend a magical evening underneath the stars of the Sahara.

• Day 3

  Merzouga to Marrakech

  Return back to Ouarzazate and back over the High Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Marrakech evening 8 p.m.(approximately).
